Vidal's New Adventure!

Vidal took one last look at Twinleaf City through the window of the plane. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, thinking about how busy today had been. All the luggage packing, his dad telling him he was a man now.... Oh yeah, and his mom's relentless, ruthless, terrifying barrage of kisses, hugs, and tears. Vidal shuddered, thinking about how his mother treated him like a baby and humiliated him at the airport in front of everyone back in his hometown. Oh well, who needs a girlfriend when you have mom, right?

Vidal stepped out of the plane and took a long look around the grand city of Jubilee.

"Wow...." Vidal said, in awe of his surroundings. It was just a week ago his parents had told him he wasn't allowed out of town, and now look at him. In a completely different part of the world. Lost in his thoughts, he just watched the people walk around on the streets of Jubilee City.

After a moment or two, Vidal realized it was getting very late and that he needed to get to Professor Clara Louise Minerva's office before she closed down for the night. Vidal called a taxi over and ran to it quickly, shouting directions before he got in. Within a second, a woman slid into the seat before Vidal could get in. "Ummm.... I don't mean to be rude.... But could you get the hell out of my cab?" Vidal asked the lady with a polite tone. She scoffed at him and sent out Muk who used Smog on Vidal. Vidal gagged from the putrid smell of Muk's breath. Within that same moment, Vidal learned another lesson. Don't be rude to women. And with that, Vidal sprinted off to the Professor's office.

Vidal finally saw the office in the distance after having been running around the city like a lunatic for thirty minutes. He made his way to the door slowly, hoping it would still be open. To his luck, it was. Panting and breathing heavily, Vidal banged on the door. He looked awful, drenched in sweat.

Professor Minerva had not been very busy for the last couple days, leaving her to do not much more then relax in the lab. Of course she was doing research and things, but chose to not work herself too much on weekends. Her glasses drooped on her face and she was eating some ice cream. She wasn't expecting many young trainers that day. She had seen two before and knew a boy by the name of Vidal was coming soon. Meanwhile, Little Clara the Shaymin was layed down on the desk in front of her. She sighed and looked at Clara, "You look like a wreck." she said as Clara got up and stretched before throwing out the ice cream. Clara then looked to her pokemon and said, "Well he won't be here for about 10 minutes" she said as she left for the bathroom to fix her hair. Little Clara then smirked and said, "How do you expect to get a man with that attitude?" This only caused Clara to blush as she finished presenting herself and heard a banging on the door, causing Little Clara to get off the desk and jump onto her shoulder. Clara thought it was some kind of burgular but as she opened the door she saw it was a boy, presumably Vidal. "Uh, are you ok? Do you want a glass of water?" she asked curious as she gestured for him to enter the lab.

Vidal had his hands on his knees, bent over, panting. After a minute, he heard the door open and looked up. He blushed a little as he looked up at the professor. He didn't expect her to be so attractive. Vidal gave her a toothy grin. His nose curled up in disgust as he smelled his breath. How did the smog manage to carry over to his breath? Vidal covered his mouth as he spoke, beginning to blush even more and stutter a bit, "Oh.... ummm...." He began to stutter a bit more, "Hi, Professor..." Vidal greeted, walking in, still holding a hand over his mouth.

Clara couldn't help but giggle at Vidal's weird behavior, "You dont need to worry about your breath, I've raised worse. There are some Trubbish in another room right now." She said reassuringly as she got her clipboard from her desk and handed it to Vidal. "Im gonna need you to fill that out, just some basic stuff, like are you a boy or girl, etc." Clara said as looked at vidal, "would you want a pokemon?" she said as she got to preparing a bag for Vidal.

Vidal felt ashamed over how bad his hygiene was at the moment. Just thirty minutes ago, he was looking, smelling, and feeling nice. He got over himself quickly though, excited that he'd finally gotten to Jubilee City and the Professor's office. And besides, this is just another story he could tell everyone when he was famous and had his name known by everyone. Maybe he'd even put it in that autobiography he was planning on writing someday.

"Alright." Vidal said, sweeping his now messy comb over with his hand, trying to fix it the best he could. Vidal took the clipboard from the professor and chuckled a little at the first question. "Are you a boy or girl?" it read. He circled both the options, interested in how the professor would react to it. After about ten minutes, Vidal finished filling out the paper. "Huh?" Vidal said, looking at the professor, "Oh, uh, I have a Pokemon here."

Vidal pulled out a pokeball and sent out Chimchar. Chimchar looked around confused, wondering where she was at. Chimchar just shrugged and fell over, asleep.

Clara had grabbed the clipboard once he was done and looked at the question. "Another prankster..." she said as she corrected it to say he was male and recorded the rest of the info. Clara worked for a minute at her computer at her desk then got up and said, "Alright smile for your picture?" she said as she went into a room with a camera and held the button to take the photo while Shaymin went over and said, "Hey" to the Chimchar.

Vidal could hardly contain his laughter as the professor took the clipboard from him. He burst out in fits of uncontrollable laughter when she finally spoke. After wiping the tears, Vidal looked at the professor, petrified.

"Picture?" Vidal said with a terrified look on his face. "NO, NO. NO. NOOOOOO." Vidal shook his head vigorously. Covering his face with his arms, he began to explain himself to the professor. "Do you see how awful I look?" Vidal questioned the professor, while pointing to his hair and sweaty clothes. "I can't take a photo like this!" Vidal shouted ashamed at how he looked.

Clara sighed at his laughter as she got ready to take the picture and said, "If you really feel the need I have a bathroom" she said knowing how these kids were so needy with how they look when she herself didnt really care much. Sometimes she really didnt like her job, especially since it kept her so far from her girlfriend, whom Shaymin did not know.

Vidal began to shuffle back and forth, leaning from left to right, showing his impatience. "WHERE'S THE BATHROOM?!" Vidal asked the Professor, ready to make a run for it. Vidal felt like she'd try and take a picture of him while he ran to the bathroom, so he kept his arms on his face and began to run around like a maniac, despite not being told where the bathroom was yet. To make matters worse, Vidal knocked several things over, ran into the professor a few times, and even tripped over Chimchar, waking her up. Afterwards, Vidal received the most brutal scratching of his life.

Clara sighed and pointed at the bathroom which is in the hall. "Calm down kid" she said as she waited for him to finish in the bathroom. She then sat down with the camera again, "im taking the picture whether your here or not!" she called.

Vidal felt his way along the wall, making sure to be cautious this time, as to not make a mess. "I'm sorry for all the trouble I'm causing, I really am." Vidal sincerely apologized, hoping the Professor would give him forgiveness. Feeling around for another few minutes with his hand still covering his face, Vidal finally found his destination. He quickly shuffled inside and shut the door behind him.

Vidal took one good long look at his face in the mirror and at his clothes. His nose wrinkled up in disgust at what he saw. Reaching into his pockets, he hoped to find his comb. He realized it must've still been in the luggage he left outside with the Professor. He cracked the door open slightly and whispered something to the Professor. "Could I borrow a comb?"

Clara smiled as the boy reached the bathroom and said in a soothing voice, "Really its fine." she said smiling while her Shaymin returned to her side after seeing that Blaze was safely with the other pokemon. "Everything you need should be in there. Take a shower if you want." she said as she went to her desk and sat down, "We have plenty of time."

Vidal suddenly calmed down. The professor was suddenly being nice all of a sudden. "Is something wrong, Professor?" Vidal walked out of the bathroom and unzipped his luggage, pulling out a new outfit. "You weren't being this nice a second ago. Does the Prof need a doc?" Vidal asked, walking up to her. He lightly touched her forehead with his right hand, checking for a temprature. "You feel normal to me." He grinned at her and walked back into the bathroom, going to take a shower.

Clara swatted his hand away instantly and looked as a garchomp entered the room to say hello. "Now i would advise you get to showering unless you want to be garchomp food." she said sternly as she sat at her desk and began to go the computer while her Shaymin chuckled.

Vidal looked at all the shampoos and soaps there were in the shower. None of them were exactly what he'd choose, but he was in a new region after all. Things were bound to be different from how they are in Sinnoh, and this just happened to be something that'd be different. He undressed and hopped into the shower, adjusting the water temperature to his liking. After the long day he had, he needed this.

About twenty minutes after he hopped in, Vidal came out, readying himself for his photo. He combed his hair, put his new clothes on, and inspected himself in the mirror once more, making sure he was in top shape for his picture. "Alright Professor, I'm ready." Vidal smiled, stepping out of the bathroom.

Clara sighed and looked at her watch, "Only took half an hour" she said as she went back in front of the camera and took the picture before entering the last information and leaving the room, coming back with a bag and a license, "These are all yours" she said handing them to him.

Vidal smiled for his picture, confident that it would turn out well. But after his picture was taken, his smile quickly disappeared and turned in to a frown. He felt guilty for the trouble he'd caused and wanted to make it up to the professor. When she returned to the room, Vidal put the stuff down that she handed him.

"I'm sorry, Professor." Vidal apologized, "I made a mess here." Vidal said, looking around to see the trouble he'd caused. "Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" He asked the Professor, "Maybe clean up a little around here?"

Clara simply shook her said and smiled, "thats what assistants are for, now go start your journey!" she said smiling as she got to her computer and waited for her next client
